Eddie Delic is the former Victoria and Australian Welterweight (66.68kg), Victorian and WBF Australasian Light-middleweight (69.85kg) professional boxing champion and a former two time state and national amateur boxing champion. Eddie also fought for the WBF Welterweight World Boxing Championship in 2006 where he lost to Dondon Sultan in a split points decision over 12 rounds in Singapore.
Eddie will be fighting Shannon McMahon who is also a former state and national professional boxing champion and former Victorian amateur boxing champion. The fight is scheduled for Friday, 20 November 2009 at the Malvern Town Hall located on Glenferrie Road, Malvern which is a short walking distance to MCorp’s Head Office.
Eddie previously fought Shannon five years ago winning on a split point’s decision where the fight was nominated “fight of the year” by the Australian National Boxing Federation. Shannon also fought Peter Musco (Director, MCorp Property Services) during their amateur boxing career. Peter also beat Shannon on a point’s decision in their Junior-Welterweight bout which was also the Victorian pre-selection for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games for the Junior Welter-Weight division. Both Peter and Eddie were also boxing stable mates during their amateur boxing careers at the Carrington Park Boxing Gymnasium under Jim Slatter former boxing trainer of the year and former state, national and international professional and amateur boxing champion.
It is anticipated that this rematch between Eddie and Shannon will be a sequel to their previous fight.
